Reiki is often used as a palliative or complementary therapy for cancer. Reiki is a non-invasive energy healing given to individuals undergoing cancer treatment and has been beneficial in easing pain and discomfort. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce the cortisol levels which further reduce perceived stress.

How can Reiki help?

Reiki helps with lowering anxiety caused by the numerous doctor visits, the uncertainty, the effects of the treatment and the disruption of present life. It is beneficial in managing stress, pain, fatigue, nausea and other effects of the chemotherapy treatment.
Regular and frequent reiki treatments are being used across hospitals before and after surgery as it induces relaxation, promotes a sense of positive well being, increases energy levels and increases quality of life.

How and where do the sessions take place?

The sessions are 30- 45 mins long depending on the energy level of the individual. Healing will be given in the position that is most comfortable for the client- be it sitting or laying down.
Treatment sessions can be in person or distance. Sessions take place at the Inner Sanctuary Wellness location in San Ramon but the practitioner is willing to drive to the patient if that is the only option.
