Meditation for Children
The stress and pressure of acamedics, comparison with peers, and pandemic events creates stress and anxiety for our children. Their brain and body are tired and children of all ages really need an opportunity and time to “unplug” to relax and rejuvenate. Meditation offers this break and helps get more clarity and focus.
Children today also have reportedly high stress levels. The simple act of teaching children how to stop, focus, and just breathe could be one of the greatest gifts and legacy we can offer them.
Monica is a Certified Guided Meditation and Imagery Instructor for children. A set of 4 to 6 classes virtually or in person, for young children and teens, are offered. Each class is for 60 minutes and is $25 per child. The sessions are customized according to your child’s needs.
The focus is to optimize the connection between the mind, body and spirit and thus, the sessions often include mindfulness and meditation techniques as they are often intertwined.
The classes are fun and interactive and consist of:
- Breathwork
- Guide imagery
- Expression through art ( for young children)
- Short books on meditation ( for young children)
- Movement based meditation
- Simple stretches
- Journaling
- Relaxation response
- Somatic Exercise therapy
- Mantra meditation
- Transcendental meditation
